Receptionist Part Time

Job Title: Part-Time Receptionist
Location: Yankton, SD
Reports To: Office Manager
Schedule Hours:

Mondays - Thursdays 3pm to 8pm

Fridays - 11am to 5pm

Position Overview:
Lewis & Clark Behavioral Health Services is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Part-Time Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for clients, families, and visitors, the receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional environment. This role supports the daily administrative functions of the clinic and ensures smooth front desk operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients and visitors with warmth, compassion, and professionalism
  • Answer incoming calls, direct calls appropriately, and take accurate messages
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage client appointments using electronic health records (EHR)
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Process intake forms and ensure completion of necessary paperwork
  • Collect co-pays and other payments, issue receipts, and balance cash drawer
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to manage client flow and schedule changes
  • Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with appropriate materials
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and deliveries
  • Perform general clerical duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a medical, behavioral health, or administrative setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with EHR systems is a plus
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Compassionate and respectful demeanor toward clients experiencing mental health challenges

Work Environment:
This role involves working in a clinical setting where a calm, supportive presence is essential. Occasional interaction with individuals in crisis may occur, and appropriate training and support will be provided.
